How to Verify Facebook Without Your Personal Phone Number
Facebook asks for a phone number at registration and again whenever its security system decides to double-check you. For a second account, a business page admin account, or simply keeping your number out of Meta's ecosystem, a temporary number covers the SMS step.
Why keep your number off Facebook
- Contacts discovery. Your number makes you findable by anyone who has it — including people you'd rather not connect.
- Meta's data web. Phone numbers link across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp — some users prefer keeping one thread out of it.
- Second and business accounts. Page admin identities and marketplace profiles often deserve their own line.
Step by step
- Top up on Micro OTP — from $1, by card, Mobile Money, or crypto.
- Search "Facebook" in the service grid, pick a number country — "Best available" is the safe default.
- Enter the number on Facebook's verification screen, country code included, request the code.
- Copy the code from your order page into Facebook.
Facebook-specific catches
Meta filters hard. Like Google, Facebook scores numbers before sending — instant rejections happen. Don't fight a refused number: cancel (the order auto-refunds) and take a fresh one, possibly on a different country route.
Email signup still exists. Where Facebook accepts email-only registration, that's free — but it phone-checks suspicious signups frequently, and new accounts often hit the gate regardless.
Marketplace and Business Manager each may want their own verification — the same temporary-number flow handles them.
Immediately after — non-negotiable
The number expires within minutes of verification. Before anything else:
- Confirm a real email address on the account.
- Enable two-factor authentication via authenticator app — Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication. Not SMS: the number won't be there.
- Save recovery codes if offered.
Facebook re-verifies accounts often enough that a dead-number-only setup is guaranteed to lock you out eventually. Email + app 2FA is the account's real backbone.
Cost
Typically under a dollar, priced upfront — and if the SMS never lands, the order refunds automatically: no code, no charge. The same process covers Instagram and everything else in the grid.
